Arknights: Endfield Special Program [Sketches of Lost Heirlooms] Summary

Arknights: Endfield’s version 1.2 veers from the main story for a little bit to give the spotlight to side stories and the long awaited Mi Fu and Camille. While we take the time to breathe before the main plot resumes, fans of the original Arknights will recognize the references to Chi Xiao in Sword Vault Dale, possibly building more bridges between the two games. This version also brings the hyped Contingency Contract, as well as more game modes and side events. Check out our summary of the special program below and ready yourself to explore Wuling’s ancient history!

New Operators

Mi Fu

  • Class: Guard
  • Element: Physical
  • Weapon: Greatsword
  • Main Attribute: Strength

Basic Attack: Fistmancer of Blades

Mi Fu can perform up to basic attack sequences, dealing Physical DMG to enemies. When performing a finisher on an enemy, Mi Fu deals massive Physical DMG and restores some SP.

Battle Skill: Qingbo Triplex

Keep casting Mi Fu’s battle skill to unleash 3 different moves. MOVE 1 pulls in nearby enemies and deals DMG, while replacing the next battle skill with MOVE 2. MOVE 2 applies Crush. If at least 3 Vulnerability stacks are consumed, the next battle skill will be replaced with MOVE 3. MOVE 3 deals massive DMG in one hit to enemies in a frontal area.

This skill has a unique mechanic of changing based on prerequisites, functioning more or less in a fighting combo style. Being divided in 3 parts, the second and third moves costs less SP than most Battle Skills. The three moves are, respectively: [Cloudtrapper] (can close gap to the enemy, dashing forward if the enemy can’t be pulled), [Trail and Mangle], and [World Splitter]. Move 3 also has the differential of being considered a [Crush] type hit while not consuming stacks of [Vulnerability]. This last move isn’t considered skill damage, but still benefits from Arts Intensity in order to enhance its damage.

Combo Skill: Fists of No Regrets

COMBO TRIGGER: When an enemy reaches 3 Vulnerability stacks. Deals DMG to the target and applies Physical Susceptibility, while replacing the next battle skill with MOVE 2.

Ultimate: Pile of No Mercy

Forcibly Lifts a target into mid-air, then slams it into the ground to deal Physical DMG, while replacing the next battle skill with MOVE 2.

Signature Weapon: Amaranthine Tassel

A Greatsword with [Strength Boost], [Attack Boost] and [Combative] tags.

Camille

  • Class: Vanguard
  • Element: Heat
  • Weapon: Polearm
  • Main Attribute: Agility

Basic Attack: Sanguine Absolution

Camille can perform up to 5 basic attack sequences, dealing Heat DMG to enemies. When performing a finisher on an enemy, Camille deals massive Heat DMG and restores some SP.

Battle Skill: Blazing Exorcism

Summons Firefang Vesperwings to fly toward the enemy, dealing Heat DMG and applying Heat Infliction to a small area of enemies, triggering Weakness, and Heat Susceptibility to the target. When the target is hit by Camille’s combo skill, it takes additional explosion DMG. If the enemy is defeated, Firefang Vesperwings will fly toward another nearby enemy.

Much like Mi Fu, Camille also has his own unique mechanic. While Firefang Vesperwings has a prolonged duration, only one of this effect can exist on the field at any given time. Luckily, if the target is defeated, it will move to the next enemy for its remainder time, refreshing the debuffs.

Combo Skill: Heartstake Thorn

COMBO TRIGGER: When an enemy’s Heat Infliction is consumed or absorbed. Performs a returning dash on the enemy, dealing Heat DMG and restoring some SP.

Ultimate: Sanguine Downpour

Camille flies to the sky, rains down a barrage of spears, and follows through with a sweep attack. This deals Heat DMG and applies Heat Infliction to enemies over a large area while restoring some SP. Shortly after casting, Camille enters a temporary Hunter Pursuit State, and his next battle skill is converted to an Enhanced Combo.

The next Battle Skill used by Camille after his Ultimate costs no SP, and restores SP upon hitting an enemy, being effectively considered a Combo Skill. Furthermore, regardless if the enemy is affected by Firefang Vesperwings, it will grant the team the effect of a combo attack, much like an enhanced version of his combo skill would. Combining all these elements from his kit allows for high uptime on Camille’s debuffs and kit cycling.

Signature Weapon: Blessing of Lustrous Carmine

A Polearm with the [Agility Boost], [Heat DMG Boost] and [Flow] tags.

New Gameplay Preview

Umbral Monument returns on July 2 with one new stage: “Contention of Deathly Silences“. Completing it allows players to take part in the new event “Monumental Etching: Dirge of Grief”.

Unlocked after completion of Patch 1.2’s story, the new permanent gameplay mode “Trial of Swordmancy” will become available starting on June 12. This gamemode follows the philosophy of “high risk, high reward” (and gambling). Players can draw dataplates, each one with a value and a group of enemies. Each dataplate provides a number of Battle Pts, and the higher the amount of Battle Pts, the higher the rewards. However, if the deck surpasses the highest amount of points (10), the rewards will drop and the enemies will become significantly stronger. The rewards include Wuling Stock Bills, and it’s possible to place structures before the battle itself, to make things easier.

Spending Wuling Stock Bills in the Arena itself after battle increases the Reward Cap and unlocks the “Rewards Doubling” function. To celebrate the launch of this new game mode, an event will be held with assorted rewards.

Another new permanent gameplay mode, “Crisis Fragment” becomes available after completing the mission [Deep Vaulted Steel]. This game mode functions similarly to RE-Crisis with less rewards, not bringing anything actually new.

“Carly’s Fairytale of Wuling” comes on July 2, as a Wuling version of the launch event “Carly’s Fairytale”. In this event, you are tasked to travel to designated locations to take pictures following a prompt.

Contingency Contract

As expected, Contingency Contract will be pretty much the same as its original Arknights version. In this Challenge event, the difficulty is set by the players themselves: You can select modifiers to increase the difficulty as well as the rewards. This mode also brings unique modifiers called “Key Criteria”. After they are selected, previously locked modifiers will become available, and they bring both negative and positive effects. Once the stage begins, there will be a certain amount of event waves, with pauses for healing and other actions between each wave.

Events

Contingency Readiness begins on June 12, rewarding [Sanity Usage Permits], [Emergency Sanity Boosters], [Gear Artificing Catalyst], [Coolant Gel], and more.

Trial Stages for Mi Fu and Camille when their respective banners begin.

7-day Login Events for Mi Fu and Camille.

New Story Events for Mi Fu and Camille, also becoming available on the same day as their respective banners.

New Geart Set: [Grizzled Edge Gear Pack], and updated gear components [Qingbo Gear Pack] and [Swordmancer Gear Pack]. We still have no information regarding actual numbers and stats for them.

New Ornamentals: Tiger Cage, Sanguine Memories, and Chubby Lung Balloon.

New Protocol Pass: Viridian Mont.

Guide Event: Search for Sword Vault Dale. Similar to previous versions, this event provides rewards based on completing current patch content.

Optimizations Preview

  • Bulk Artificing function added. (If the Artificing succeeds earlier, unused gear and Artificing Catalysts will be refunded).
  • Batch Dismantling and Lock Management Functions added for weapons.
  • Essence Farming optimized: After selecting a target weapon, essences that perfectly match the weapon will be automatically locked and marked.
  • Mission List Display optimization: Added a [Best in the Version] mission tag.
  • Optimized device switching between Controller and Keyboard/Mouse.
  • Added [Regional Overview] button to the Regional Development System main screen.
  • In the AIC, the [Expanded Crucible] will now automatically handle blockages from multiple recipes.
  • In the AIC, a new Backup Power Feature will be added. You can now temporarily get unlimited power and freely choose when to activate Backup Power.
  • Wuling Power Connection Optimization: Xiranite Pylons and Xiranite Relays within the Core AIC Area can now connect to those outside the area.
  • Off-Screen Attack Warning Optimization: Added more notable warnings for attacks from off-screen enemies.
  • Added a button to return to Dijiang when visiting a friend.
  • Daily Task Optimization: Reduced the burden of Daily Tasks.

Future Version Preview

The upcoming version follows the Endministrator as they team up with Arcane with the goal of sealing the Wuling Rift. It will feature two new maps, new map gameplay and mechanics, and the introduction of a new idol character.

Furthermore, the AIC will also receive its biggest update to date, with the addition of the new industrial form: Gas.

[The Rooted Realm] will be a new parkour-themed event.

The devs also mentioned optimizing the camera system in future versions, including customization functions for operator photo poses and positioning. Other minor optimizations have been mentioned as well, such as improvement on the logic when selecting structures that are overlapped, and the refinement of liquid animations.
