Bossing Tier List

The Bossing tier list has also been slightly modified to reflect the current meta. We also tried our best to apply value equalization across Burst Types. Unlike with Campaign, it is harder to achieve here because it is a mix between Generic Bossing & Raid. Usage rates in Raid have been used to determine whether a unit should be ranked higher or lower. Our changes will focus on:

  • Major restructure in the B2 & B1 category to match the values of the B3 tiers better. This will make it less misleading to beginners.
  • The restructure will mostly incorporate mass demotion in the upper tiers.
  • This will bring the Tier List more in line with our grading criteria for Bossing.
  • Demotion of units in B3.

The grading criteria will be simplified into basically possession value, strength, competition, & usage rates. Units in higher tiers either have a really good possession value (you feel a huge boost if you own them, usually tied to unique gimmicks like RRH having 2 elements); have huge strength (just strong); have no competition (they may fill a niche or two that doesn’t have a competition and that might boost their tier, like MiharaBC being a powerful off-burst); and past & predicted future usage rates in UR & SR. Note that you might realize units in the upper tiers are stronger in Neutral than lower-tier ones. This is because their versatility carries their possession value. Units that are only elemental/situational obviously carry less.

Ratings Explained

  • SSS: These units have a strong presence in nearly all Bossing content (can brute force), have huge possession values, or are used almost all the time in Solo Raid.
  • SS: These units have less possession value/strength than units in the SS tier or have some restrictions that make them unable to being rated higher. While they may not be the best, they are great alternatives and the DPS will beat SSS units against countered elements. They also have a notable presence in Neutral, which sets them apart from S units.
  • S: Not to say they are less impactful than SS-SSS, but they do have less possession value/strength so not owning them doesn’t hurt as much as not owning any of the SS units. They are not Neutral’s first choices (that would be SS/SSS), but they can still be used in Neutral to succeed.
  • A:  Mostly elemental or situational units that arise when the situation calls for it. They can be better than the units in the higher tiers sometimes. They can also be used with them or be slotted in as replacements (if you don’t have anyone better). Because of their niche-ness or their just “filling” duty, they obviously have less possession value/strength.
  • B: These units don’t get used in Raid or rarely show up, much more rarely than A units. You can swap them in as replacements if no better unit is available. Even for endgame players, we still seek replacements due to a lack of good DPS/supports. This is usually only feasible if element advantage is factored in, so you can say that the girls here are “weaker elemental DPS” than A.
  • C: We don’t use these units, but they can be used as replacements if you don’t have anything better (yet). Some may see use, but are very, very, very niche.
  • D-F: We don’t recommend using these units at all, but the higher their tier is, the more usable they are.

Tier List Changes

  • Ade, Asuka: Wille, ToveT, MAnchor SS → S
    • With Nayuta’s arrival, Ade is not as impactful as she was on her release. She still provides a competitive edge in pierce situations, but Nayuta’s DPS puts her in a better state much more often than not.
    • Asuka:Wille is also a subject of the Anniversary Pilgrims, but this time it’s Liberalio who has stolen her spotlight in the top Wind team. While still a strong and potent DPS, she is slightly below the Wind Element Goddesses (ScarletBS and Liberalio).
    • With the introduction of the Heavy Arms Snow White lowering Dorothy: Serendipity’s value, Tove Treasure faces heavy competition and slot pressure as she competes with MirandaT in both SR and UR. She has almost completely been phased out of UR now because of MirandaT and RapiB1, and it’s only on rare occasions that she returns (which only applies to the very top unions who can reach stage 4 of Hard Mode UR).
    • Maid Anchor faces an unfortunate demotion as Maid Mast, her main partner, prefers to be used with Crown or even Nayuta. This has lowered Anchor’s chances of being used in recent times, but she is still a strong option for Wind weak raids, and a great option if a player lacks one of the top B2s. She is also a meta unit for some campaign stages.
  • BSoda, DWife, Blanc, Mari, BMilk, Naga, SolineFT, Noir S → A
    • BSoda used to be a staple in SG teams, but since the advent of DrakeT and now SolineFT, she has been completely removed from the CDR role she provided. She now exists solely as a DPS for Iron Weak Solo Raids.
    • DWife is simply too weak now. She lacks potent buffs and the meta units she works with do not enjoy her rather small pierce damage buff since they’re already stacked on “Attack Damage” type buffs. She may be used sometimes as an off-burst CDR unit, which is her main role in the modern meta right now. However, units like SolineFT and S.Helm usually take this role from her.
    • With a follow-up of DWife’s demotion, SolineFT also joins her since she is also too weak, and her main role exists as a soulless off-burst CDR. With her burst cooldown being 40s, being an added restriction, she survives to S tier only because of her role in the SG team.
    • Blanc and Noir are simply not strong enough anymore. That is all. The pioneer B2s are more or less retired now, with Noir facing a harsher reality than Blanc since her role as a DPS for Wind Weak is extremely threatened, while Blanc may be used with Rouge as well if healing is needed.
    • Mari is still a good choice B2 sometimes, but she is powercrept by Ade in every situation (except for in Electric Weak Raids).
    • BMilk is only a DPS for Iron Weak content. We fail to see any place for her in neutral content, even though we envisioned that a high uptime pierce on a boss would make her viable to be used. She displays this strength in the campaign quite often, but in bossing, it seems like elemental damage is simply superior, and the age of neutral DPS is practically over. She also provides little to no QoL (such as Red Hood’s burst gen and ability to swap to B1 for buffs), and no real synergy (like Alice has with SBS). Hence, she is now an A-tier unit with the updated criteria.
    • Naga falls as she has been completely replaced by Maid Mast. She has little to no use anymore, but exists as Missilis Tower’s strength for Bossing. She is still a great and potent pair of Crown, and shares her strength and synergy with Tia as well. Similar to Blanc and Noir, however, Tia and Naga are not strong enough anymore.
  • K, Emilia B → C
  • N102 D → C
