New Seasonal Story – Abandon Ship

The new seasonal story, Abandon Ship, will be added to the game.

[Abandon Ship] Available Schedule – July 31, After the maintenance ~ August 21, 2024, 14:00 (UTC+9)

New Employee – Sonya Bill

Sonya is a dysfunctional forward-deployment character without any direction to her kit design. Her main (supposed) value comes from her on-demand -100% Incoming Healing debuff… except it decays… and it only lasts 15 seconds. Sonya is far too expensive for how little she influences the game.

In PVP, there is no reason to use Sonya over more specialized disruption-oriented units. For any time you would consider adding her to your team, there would be a better unit for the situation. It’s unclear if this unit is strong enough to see any amount of play on UP.

New Employee – Tallie

Tallie is a damage-oriented sniper that deals no damage. Her one redeeming quality is her high hitcount.

Hitcount checks exist in CounterSide (primarily) as a PVE mechanic, but generally speaking they can be, and have been cleared without Tallie. Tallie is rarely a significant enough improvement over the existing strategies to the point where she would be worth taking. Worse still, Tallie’s poor survivability prevents her from being used in those few PVE stages where the hitcount is actually relevant (e.g. Tyrant Gigas).

Tallie sees next to no use in PVP. Of note, there is a novel interaction between Tallie and Shepherd and Lurcher (dino mech); Tallie, with her high hitcount, can shred the dino mech’s hitcount-based immortality almost instantly. Unfortunately, as dino mech comps typically bring many disruption tools, Tallie struggles to perform this consistently.
