Silver Wolf skills revealed!

Silver Wolf

Silver Wolf is a Quantum-Type character following the Path of Nihility. She has a special ability to inflict Weakness on enemies. When Silver Wolf unleashes her Skill, there is a chance of inflicting a Weakness on an enemy target. The Weakness Type will be the same as at least one of the allies in combat. Her Ultimate can reduce the DEF of a single enemy target and deal DMG to them. Whenever she attacks, Silver Wolf has a chance of implanting a random Bug on an enemy target, which can reduce the target’s ATK, DEF, or SPD.

Below you will find Silver Wolf’s new kit and her Final Beta kit (you were able to check her skills during the trial back then, but the option was removed on release sadly) – so you can compare how she changed between then and now. The numbers for the old kit have been removed as we don’t have the numbers for the release kit yet – so the comparison will focus on the wording.

Traces

TraceTrace effect
1Bug’s duration is extended for x turns. Every time an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, Silver Wolf has an x% base chance of implanting a random Bug in the enemy.
2The duration of the Weakness implanted by Silver Wolf’s Skill increases by x turns.
3If the enemy has x or more debuffs when Skill is used, the enemy’s All Type DMG RES decreases by an extra x%.

Overall – the traces are very strong and make her kit even better.

Skills

This section compares Silver Wolf’s skills between Final Beta and her release version!

Basic Skill

There are no changes to her basic.

Skill

BeforeAfter
Deals Quantum DMG equal to x% of Silver Wolf’s ATK to a single target enemy, with a x% base chance to inflict the target with 1 Weakness of the same Type as a random ally’s ATK Type for 3 turn(s), and reduces the enemy’s DMG RES to that ATK Type by x%. In addition, there is a x% base chance to reduce the DMG RES of the enemy by x% for x turn(s).There is an x% base chance to add a Weakness of an ally’s Type to the target enemy and reduce the enemy’s DMG RES to that element. If the enemy already has that Weakness, the effect of the reduction will not happen. Each enemy can only have 1 Weakness implanted by Silver Wolf.

When Silver Wolf implants another Weakness on the target, only the most recently implanted one will be kept.

In addition, there is a high chance to additionally reduce the All-Type RES of the enemy by x% for a certain amount of turns.

Deals Quantum DMG equal to x% of Silver Wolf’s ATK to this enemy.

Seems like Silver Wolf’s skill got quite a big wording rework which affects the mechanic side of things:

  • Silver Wolf can apply a random Weakness to the enemy whenever she uses her Skill – and the Weakness applied will be selected from her allies. So if you run a mono Quantum team, you basically always will apply a Quantum Weakness, thus making Seele even strong. But in any other team composition (like mono Fire + Quantum from SW for example), there’s always a 25% chance that Quantum will be selected – so you’re rolling the dice basically every time SW uses her Skill,
  • The biggest change revolves around the order of how the actions within the Skill work. Before, Silver Wolf first did the damage and only then applied all her effects – now is the opposite. This means her own damage will benefit from all the debuffs she applied.

Ultimate

BeforeAfter
There’s a x% base chance to decrease the enemy target’s DEF by x for 3 turn(s). And at the same time, deals x% of Silver Wolf’s ATK as Quantum DMG to the target enemy. There’s a high base chance to decrease the target enemy’s DEF by x% for turns. And at the same time, deals x% of Silver Wolf’s ATK as Quantum DMG to the target enemy.

No mechanical or wording changes here, but it’s important to note that the DEF reduction will happen before she attacks – so she will again benefit from it herself.

Talent

BeforeAfter
Silver Wolf can create three types of Bugs: Reduce ATK by x%, reduce DEF by x%, and reduce SPD by x%. Every time Silver Wolf attacks, she has a x% base chance to implant a random Bug that lasts for x turn(s) in the enemy target.Silver Wolf can create three types of Bugs: Reduce ATK by x%, reduce DEF by x%, and reduce SPD by x%. Every time Silver Wolf attacks, she has a x% base chance to implant a random Bug that lasts for x turns in the enemy target.

No changes at all here – Silver Wolf still can apply all 3 of her bugs.

Technique

BeforeAfter
Immediately attacks the enemy, dealing Quantum damage to all targets. After entering battle, reduces Toughness from all enemies, ignoring their Weakness. Enemies with their Weakness Broken in this way will trigger the Quantum Weakness Break effect.

We didn’t have information about Silver Wolf Technique in the Final Beta (because it wasn’t possible to inspect it during the trial) and wow – that’s a great Technique. Not only she can deal damage to all enemies on its use, but most importantly it ignores the Weakness, so everyone will be affected – even if they’re not Quantum. This makes her Technique super universal!

Initial impressions

Silver Wolf still looks very strong and the changes to the wording of her skills actually made her stronger compared to the Final Beta version! We’re eagerly looking forward to her release on the 7th of June and we will release our “Should You Pull? Guide” then!

Tim also covered the released skills, so give him a watch as his Chinese is much better than mine!

  1. Infinite ultra

If you have mono-fire + Silver Wolf, wouldn’t it be a 50% chance to pick Quantum, because it chooses between just Quantum and Fire regardless of how many members of each you have? Like with the Punklorde mentality curio from SU. So a 2 Fire 2 Quantum team would be better if it worked like that.

That depends if Silver Wolf’s skill only considers what types are present (in this case, Fire and Quantum) which would only be 50% if there’s 2 types. However if the skill considers how many allies there are and what their types are, for example 1 Quantum and 3 Fire, it would be 75% Fire and 25% Quantum.

      1. Penciless

As text “add a Weakness of an ally’s Type to the target”, might the term “ally” not be Silver Wolf herself? In that case, she works fine with any mono-element team (100% that element).

    2. Maca

From preliminary testing in the intro sequence and punklorde mentality curio, it seems she’d give priority to the element the enemy is not already vulnerable to.
Say you have a 3 fire + SW party, and fighting an enemy that is weak to Quantum, Wind and Electric, but not Fire.
From the result of the testing, SW Skill on such a target will ALWAYS pick Fire for Weakness implant, as the enemy is ALREADY weak to Quantum.

If the enemy didn’t have weakness to either element of your team, the split would be 50:50 between Quantum and Fire, BUT: if on the first skill you lose the 50:50 and make the enemy vulnerable to Quantum, the next skill is apparently GUARANTEED to pick the other element, as it considers the implanted weakness too, so it sees the enemy as “already vulnerable to quantum”
