Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium | Dev Blog 2
Dear Commanders,
It has been 8 months since the release of Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium globally. During this time, we have received much support from many Commanders, as well as feedback and suggestions from Commanders in various countries and regions. The Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium development team is working hard to establish a clear and efficient global platform for communication and feedback. Our goal is to listen more closely to our Commanders worldwide and use your input to guide improvements, ensuring a more enjoyable gameplay experience to all our Commanders
To better communicate with our Commanders and respond directly to your concerns, the Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium development team will be releasing a series of developer logs. These logs will highlight frequently asked questions, share explanations, and provide answers on topics that matter most to our Commanders. Moving forward, we will update these logs whenever feasible, giving our global community clearer insights into our development decisions and plans.
Will there be an accelerated patch update release schedule for the global servers? Will the global servers eventually be synced up with Simplified Chinese server?
A: After reviewing the feedback and concerns from Commanders worldwide, the Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium development team plans to eventually synchronize the patch update releases globally instead of keeping approximately a one-year gap in content releases, so that Commanders worldwide can experience the latest story and events at the same time. However, this remains a long-term goal. We will not rush or blindly accelerate patch updates, but instead take multiple factors into account when planning updates—such as story progression, Doll relationships, and overall content design.
We’ve also received feedback and concerns about the potential downsides of accelerated patch updates. In response to that, we have carried out reasoned extrapolation and future planning and have arrived at the following course of action: Firstly, details of future patch update acceleration will be distributed through official channels such as the Beilan Island Emergency Shelter Broadcast. In addition, when accelerating patch updates, we will provide appropriate giveaway events as compensation to make up for currency that have been lost as a result of the speed-up. Said giveaways will factor in the size of the update, Commanders’ feedback, and other factors. For more details on these additional giveaways, please refer to upcoming official announcements.
The [Crew Deck] was recently launched on the Simplified Chinese servers. When will it arrive on the global servers, and will the price point of newly released outfit procurement and furniture shop be adjusted?
A: This topic has been a major point of discussion between the development team and players from the Simplified Chinese servers. Based on feedback, we are implementing a number of improvements to both the current and future [Outfit Procurement] banners, including:
- Improving ways to acquire the item needed to unlock the exclusive one-on-one interaction for Makiatto’s Outfit – [Embroidered Bamboo, Blooming Shadows]. While the unlock item will still be available in the [Outfit Exchange Shop], there will be ways to acquire it for free through certain event.
- Improving ways to acquire purple-quality outfits in future [Outfit Procurement] banners: While the purple-quality outfits will still remain in the [Outfit Procurement] banner, they will also be purchasable directly in the [Shop] – [Outfit Boutique]. Commanders can decide freely whichever avenue best suits their preferences.
- Improving the gold-quality rewards from future banners of [Outfit Procurement] as well as the number of pulls needed to obtain guaranteed gold-quality rewards.
- In addition to the aforementioned purple-quality outfits, high-value item rewards such as [Basic Info Cores] and [Targeting Calibration Chips] will be added to the gold-quality rewards;
- In addition to the adjustments made to the [Outfit Procurement], we will be lowering the amount of [Credit Tokens] needed to purchase certain furniture in the [Furniture Shop] to 40% of the original price. For example, an item that costs 100 Credit Tokens before the adjustment will now cost 40 Credit Tokens. Furthermore, more ways to obtain [Merkle Leaves] will be added.
As the [Crew Deck] has not yet launched globally, all of the above adjustments will be in place from the beginning of its release on the global servers. As such, our Commanders globally will therefore access the latest iteration of the system, including rewards from the first iteration of the [Outfit Procurement] and [Furniture Shop].
When the [Crew Deck] is launched in the global servers, we will release 30 [Outfit Access Permissions] for free; this is to make it easier for our Commanders to obtain these items. Additionally, first-purchase discount gift packs will also be available along with the release of the Crew Deck so Commanders can obtain [Outfit Access Permissions] at a lower cost.
The [Crew Deck] is currently undergoing localization and will require time before it can be introduced to our Commanders worldwide. Additional [Outfit Access Permissions] will also be distributed based on our Commanders’ suggestions. Please keep an eye on official announcements for further updates.
[Gunsmoke Frontline] is very time-consuming. Do you plan to make improvements to it?
A: The development team has been closely monitoring and gathering feedback on the game’s various game modes, with particular attention given to suggestions for the Platoon System and [Gunsmoke Frontline]. We’ve made these areas a priority for future improvements.
Our first round of improvements to the global servers will focus on two key directions:
- Making team planning easier.
- Enhancing scoring methods in auto-battle mode.
We hope these updates will reduce both the time investment and difficulties in game controls Commanders are currently facing.
At the same time, a brand-new Platoon game mode is also in development. We look forward to sharing more about it soon, so please stay tuned to the upcoming official updates!
The game’s routine content is too repetitious and the dailies feel tedious. Can this be improved?
A: Improvements regarding this point are in development already. These include, but are not limited to: improving the PVP game mode, developing a practical assist function for daily missions and so on.
We will port it over to the global servers ASAP. Our goal is to ease the repetitive strain on our Commanders and give everyone more time to enjoy other fun gameplay modes and content.
The aforementioned new gameplay modes which have already been implemented on the Simplified Chinese server will also be introduced to the global servers soon. Please look forward to them, dear Commanders! If there are other types of content you’d like to see, please share your thoughts and feedback with us through our official channels; the Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium development team will take your suggestions into consideration.
Upcoming Content:
