Dev Talk
TLDR, Yuzhong wants to sync the global version up to the CN version at some point.
- 4Gamer:
- We’ve used the same operation style for previous titles in the series, and Girls’ Frontline 2 is known for having almost no difference in content implementation status aside from limited events. Will you be narrowing the gap between the two in the future?
- Yuzhong:
- Our goal is to “catch up and completely match the service content of the global version with the mainland version.” It won’t be immediately, but we intend to completely synchronize the progress eventually.
- 4Gamer:
- So you’re going all the way to synchronization. Are you trying to avoid any negative effects from speeding up the service content?
- Yuzhong:
- Yes. We’ll make adjustments to avoid any differences that arise from shortening the implementation period, such as opportunity losses like increased or decreased reward amounts.
- While accelerating content implementation, we’ll actively listen to user feedback and synchronize as much as possible to avoid missing out.
- 4Gamer:
- While there have been attempts to bridge the gap with the mainland version in the past, I believe this is the first time we’ve aimed for complete synchronization. This would likely make it more difficult to improve other regional versions based on feedback from the mainland version, a method that has supported operations up until now. Is this a challenge you’re taking on in anticipation of this?
- Yuzhong:
- Yes, it will. I believe it’s a challenge we can take on.
- The goal of synchronization is, first of all, because we’ve always felt sorry for the discrepancies in the speed at which content is available depending on the region.
- Also, from our perspective, it’s more efficient from a development perspective to provide the same content to users worldwide with a single build system rather than operating multiple servers with different progress. While the associated localization work will be a new burden, synchronizing progress will increase the game’s fun and focus development, so we see it as a challenge we absolutely must take on

This is a real shame, GFL2 has been since launch on global one of the more good value shop gacha games on the market. every cycle it had 1 to 1 currency for pulls that favored moderate spenders and the skins were decently prices. with this update they completely flipped the script making it the most expensive items on the market, the game itself’s gameplay foundation hasnt been entertaining enough to keep player retention and this really just feels like a cash out to try and juice the remaining players left. i am really sad it went this way.
