CounterSide Dev Note – 28/Feb/2025
This is Kim Hyun Soo, the Head PD of CounterSide.
We thank all our CEOs for all the support and love sent to us during the CounterSide Origin 2nd Anniversary.
In this month’s Dev Notes, we’ll provide more details about the upcoming updates during March.
New Counter Pass – Exorcist Vanguard Nicole Primer
Nicole is the new Counter Pass employee, which was hinted at with the silhouette revealed in the CounterSide Origin 2nd Anniversary, Talk:Side.
The Nicole we know is disguised as a bartender to exorcise devils, but when called upon by the Holy Curia, she fulfills her duty as a member of the Exorcism Council.
Vanguard Exorcist Nicole Primer has a different appearance from the bartender version. She has exceptional skills and a fierce expression, and rumors suggest she doesn’t easily mingle with other sisters.
However, that’s just due to the tension before the battle, and Nicole, as we know, enjoys talking with others.
While performing exorcism activities amidst these small misunderstandings, Vanguard Exorcist Nicole Primer encounters the Administrator, a customer of her bar
She is flustered by a customer who recognizes her but also has a desire to greet him with a sense of familiarity. Please look forward to meeting another side of Nicole through this opportunity.
New Operator – Agnes Abigail
Agnes Abigail, the charming member of the Valentinus monastery, will be visiting the CEOs as an Operator.
Egg tarts and beer are the top contributors to the Valentinus monastery’s finances. However, only Agnes Abigail know the secretly passed-down recipe.
Agnes Abigail will temporarily put aside her sisterhood and serve the CEOs egg tarts that cannot be tasted anywhere else.
Please look forward to seeing a different side of Agnes Abigail.
New Alternium Reactors
The targets for this Alteranium Reactor are Six Wings Amy Firstwing, Clareth El Arcadena, and Mi Rinae.
First, Amy is being prepared with a focus on enhancing her attack abilities and increasing her Hitstun resistance.
Clareth’s Special Skill activation conditions are planned to be eased, and Mi Rinae’s Alteranium Reactor is being planned to enhance her Passive Skill.
Balance Adjustment – Strikers
Following the balance adjustments for some Rangers through the 1/21 update, balance adjustments for some Strikers are planned.
The balance adjustments are being prepared with a focus on selecting employees with low usability to enhance the survivability of the target employees.
Detailed information on the balance adjustments will be released through future patch notes.

End of Arcade Mode Schedule
The Arcade Mode, which allows you to enjoy various Gauntlet modes, is scheduled to end.
We have conducted various Arcade modes to provide CEOs with unique and different fun.
However, we have determined that participation is being divided between Ranked Battle and Arcade, resulting in increased matching times for both contents.
Therefore, we have decided to run the Arcade Mode only during the Tournament season to ensure smoother Ranked Battle progress.
Ranked Battle Ban Rule Changes
In Ranked Battles, some employees are selected as ban picks through Rotation Bans and Casting Bans.
Employees selected as ban picks are difficult to utilize in Ranked Battles during the corresponding week due to increased deployment resources and debuff penalties.
The development team has determined that situations frequently occur where employees are difficult to use in Ranked Battles, even after they have reached level 120 using a significant amount of resources.
Therefore, we plan to change the ban rules to reduce the number of banned employees and the maximum ban value so that CEOs can utilize the employees more frequently.
■ Rotation Ban
The current Rotation Ban rules, which vary according to the number of released employees, will be changed to the following fixed value.

■ Casting Ban
- Selection Count
- Before: 3
- After: 2
- Ban Count
- Before: 4

Casting Ban Rule Change
- Before: Employees with 2 bans or more are not eligible for a Casting Ban
- After: Employees with 1 ban or more are not eligible for a Casting Ban
■ Other Changes
- The Casting Ban list will be changed to display only the ban list for the current week.
- In leagues below Challenger, points will no longer be deducted upon defeat
The changes are being prepared to be implemented by the April 1 update, which marks the start of the next season. We hope that CEOs will be able to utilize a wider variety of employees.
Maximum Eternium Capacity and Charge Amount
We are currently reviewing increasing the maximum capacity of Eternium, which is currently 30,000, and the recharge amount.
CounterSide has various routes for acquiring resources, such as Dimension Trimming, Substream event shop, and Supply Operations.
However, many CEOs have expressed regret that the maximum amount and recharge amount of Eternium, which is essential for resource acquisition, are insufficient.
Therefore, the development team is considering improving the system in a way that increases the maximum Eternium holding capacity up to 50,000 depending on the account level, which also gradually increases the recharge amount.
Please refer to the following information regarding the maximum Eternium holding capacity and recharge amount currently being planned.
■ Increase in Maximum Eternium Capacity
- Levels 60-78: Increase capacity by 300 for each level
- Levels 79-99: Increase capacity by 200 for each level
- Levels 100-200: Increase capacity by 100 for each level
- Maximum: 50,000
■ Increase in Daily Supply
- Gradual increase from level 60 to level 200
- Daily Eternium supply at level 200: 43,200
- 150 Eternium is acquired every 5 minutes
Search Function
The search function, which was mentioned during the CounterSide Origin 2nd Anniversary live stream, is scheduled to be added in March.
The search function can be used not only for employees and gear but also in all management and storage areas, including ships, operators, trophies, and supplies.
In addition, we are preparing features for setting detailed conditions to help you find the desired target more quickly.
We are developing features such as searching for results that satisfy all conditions entered with commas (,), slashes (/), or spaces, or searching for results excluding certain conditions using the minus (-) sign.
For example, if entering SSR Hil, the search result will give employees with “hil” included in the list of SSR employees. (in this case, Hilde: Siegfried Type).
Another example is Striker -SSR, which would search for all non-SSR employees with a striker role.
- Condition-setting methods are still under development and may change when the actual update is applied.
We are preparing to make the search function more convenient for CEOs, so please look forward to it.
New Substream – Moonlight
The new Substream episode, Moonlight, will be updated in April.
[Moonlight] is the story of pseudo-religious, materialistic nuns who deceive people by disguising the Counterside Effect as paranormal events and extorting money.
A wealthy person from the Chamber has tasked these nuns with resolving the supposed spiritual phenomenon. To do so, they will attempt a carefully crafted scam. Will their scheme succeed? And what dark secrets lie behind their forced lives as nuns? Find out in April.
Regarding the Appreciation Kit
Before addressing the delivery and contents of the Appreciation Kit, we would like to sincerely apologize once again for the significant amount of time it took to present it to our CEOs.
Moreover, after the Appreciation Kit was delivered in Korea, we received feedback from many CEOs expressing disappointment due to the poor quality of the appreciation plaque. Before explaining the detailed circumstances, we deeply apologize for delivering a product with inadequate quality.
First, we will explain the cause of the poor quality of the Appreciation Kit.
This Appreciation Kit was scheduled to be delivered to CEOs in Korea and Global servers. We decided to produce the plaque using thick acrylic instead of glass or crystal to prevent damage during transit overseas.
However, after checking the product, as the CEOs pointed out, the insufficient quality diminished the gratitude we intended to convey and caused great disappointment to the CEOs who were looking forward to it.
This situation was caused entirely by our lack of planning and inspection, and we take full responsibility. We apologize to all the CEOs who were disappointed by this incident.
Next, we will explain the follow-up action to address this issue.
After consideration, we have determined that the best way to express our gratitude to our CEOs is to completely produce new appreciation plaques with new material and design and deliver them again. Furthermore, the new appreciation plaques will be produced in a single form to avoid low-quality assembly issues like the current one.
We will provide the new appreciation plaques to Korean CEOs who have already received their kits. Global CEOs will receive a complete kit, including the new plaque, where delivery has not yet taken place.
We sincerely apologize once again for causing concern to the CEOs due to various mistakes, and we will strive to rectify our mistakes step by step, even if it is slow.
