Reverse: 1999 — Euphoria & Reveries in the Rain Explained
With the release of version 2.3, the long awaited Euphoria system has come to Global! We’re going to cover everything you need to know:
- What is Euphoria?
- Who’s been buffed?
- Who’s getting buffed in the future?
- What is Reveries in the Rain?
What is Euphoria?
Euphoria is the new character enhancement system that buffs old characters. It unlocks when a 6* character reaches Insight III Level 30 or a 5* character reaches Insight III Level 1 and can be accessed in the character’s profile page. Each patch so far has introduced new Euphoria buffs so if you don’t use any of the currently buffed characters, you can save materials for when your favorites get buffed.
Here’s how to fully level up a character’s Euphoria buff:
- Obtain insight materials and new Reveries in the Rain materials (Keys of Thought, Sprouts of Fantasy, and Seeds of Inspiration).
- Spend those materials to unlock a character’s [Incantation Cadence].
- Spend more materials to unlock an [Epiphany] (this is basically an updated kit; some characters like Lilya get multiple that you have to unlock separately).
- Level up a character’s [Incantation Cadence] with Seeds of Inspiration.
- Every 5 levels, spend materials to Rank Up. This unlocks another part of the [Epiphany] character kit.
Fully leveling up a character’s Euphoria buff is very expensive! The version rewards from “Euphoria and Lucidity” give you enough to fully level ONE character’s Euphoria. That’s 12 [Keys of Thought], 165 [Sprouts of Fantasy], and 2600 [Seeds of Inspiration] on top of Insight materials.
The main way you get these new level up materials is from Reveries in the Rain. You can also get a few from the Roar Jukebox battle pass and the Pawnshop.
Who’s been buffed?
Here are the current Euphoria buffs available in Version 2.3 and a brief summary of what they do. Feel free to check out the full description on their pages.
- Druvis III: [Circle of Life] now provides more stat buffs and prevents Reality Plant characters from dispelling [Petrify].
- Lilya: Excess Crit Rate to Crit DMG conversion and more FUA. What Roars like a Victory Song? makes her an Ult-spam powerhouse while The Kamchatka Hunt gives her some [Bullet] synergy.
- Sotheby: [Cure] now activates automatically when HP is low, making Sotheby one of the best healers in the game. Her [Poison] does more damage, as well.
- Eternity: More HP consumption and buffs allies’ Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and DMG Taken Reduction based on missing HP.
- Ms. NewBabel: Casts her shield skill automatically when allies are attacked, and her shields can stack with pre-existing ones. Buffs Crit Rate and Riposte DMG.
- Shamane: Randomly grants allies Moxie and [Ceremonious] (Ult Might) upon casting his Ultimate.
- Bkornblume: Applies [Weakness] and Crit DEF shred. Gains Moxie if she doesn’t get hit.
Who’s getting buffed in the future?
Spoilers for future patches, obviously.
Version 2.4
- Voyager: Important [Inspiration] teammate for Barcarola, as Voyager’s Ultimate allows [Inspiration]’s random attacks to target the chosen enemy. Gains Eureka and Moxie generation.
- Jessica: New [Petrify] DPS for Druvis teams. Applies [Petrify] and deals more damage to petrified enemies.
- Matilda: Another [Inspiration] teammate for Barcarola. Increases Crit Rate and Crit DMG of [Inspiration] attacks. Gains Eureka.
- Tennant: More consistent [Diamond Bullet] generation. Automatically attacks and casts shields. Deals more damage with [Bullet] allies.
Version 2.5
- An-an Lee: Ranks up adjacent ally’s incantations and grants [Empower Incantation I]. Applies [Rigidity], [Poison], and [Burn].
- Pickles: Mono-Mineral FUA support, buffing adjacent Mineral ally’s PEN Rate, Crit Rate, Crit DMG, Leech Rate, and FUA DMG. Consistent mass dispel.
Version 2.6
- Medicine Pocket: No details yet.
- Melania: No details yet.
What is Reveries in the Rain?
Reveries in the Rain is a new gamemode that consists of 3 parts:
- Depths of Myth
- Isle of Echoes
- Voyages of Volatility
Depths of Myth grants Clear Drops, Insight materials, and the new Euphoria materials: Keys of Thought, Sprouts of Fantasy, and Seeds of Inspiration. It features a bunch of permanent stages divided into 5 zones. At the end of each zone, you have to clear a Transition Zone that requires 3 different teams of characters to clear.
Starting from stage 5 (50m) of Depths of Myth, you unlock Isle of Echoes. This lets you clear stages to level up boss creatures (Myth Manifests) you can add to your team to help you clear Depths of Myth. Each creature has:
- An Afflatus
- A set of synergies
- A set of passive skills
- A skill tree (Mind Map) you can customize as you level them up
These boss creatures rotate out every once in a while, making certain teams and characters better at clearing Reveries in the Rain than others.
Voyages of Volatility is the new challenge mode that refreshes periodically (like Limbo). There are 3 different stages that require completely different teams (including Myth Manifests) to clear. Try to defeat all enemies in the turn limit to score points. Each stage has 3 difficulties to choose from; the harder the stage, the more points you get.
